We would like to retrofit our standard brick veneer home (Tasmania) built in 1970. Having a good insulation is our priority. Please can you clarify the following:
Q: Why choose EcoFoam Cavity Wall Insulation over Rockwool
A: EcoFoam retrofit wall insulation is a product that is specifically designed to be used for this application. It is pumped into the cavity as a foam with the consistency of shaving cream and then sets into a very lightweight solid that never settles or sags over time.
Q: What R Value can we expect after insulation
A: This will depend on the existence of sisalation or wall paper which determines the thickness of the injected insulation. If none present, then an R-value in excess of R4.0 can be expected in a brick veneer wall cavity
Q: What damages are done during the process
A: This depends on whether the installation is done from the internal wall side or the external wall side. If done externally through unrendered facebrick then only repair of small filling holes in the mortar is required. If the application is done from the internal walls, then patch and repair of the plaster will be required
Q. Do we have to repaint the inside walls after
A: Refer to above
Q. Do we have to do anything with the power points
A: An electrical inspection and preparation is part and parcel of our application method.
